Classic Game Room HD - DOOM for SNES review

Classic Game Room HD reviews the legendary first person shooter, DOOM for the Super Nintendo. Doom on the SNES may not be the best version of ID's Doom, but it does have a cool, red game cartridge. This CGR review of Doom for SNES has gameplay footage from Doom on Super Nintendo showing the video game play in action from this early FPS released on PC in 1993 and for SNES in 1995. ID Software made history with titles like Wolfenstein 3D and Doom, regarded as (some of) the earliest, modern first person shooters. Waste enemies with a variety of weapons like the shotgun and chaingun, find armor and power ups. The SNES version of Doom suffers from slow response time, a small screen and nearly invisible enemies. There are better versions out there, but the game is still legendary. Doom it up with DOOM!

Why does everyone hate this port. Its the only one made from scrath with all 3 bosses and beast music, i mean the graphics suck but i mean its 16 bit what do u expect?

doom was not that bad on snes.  worst version ? no obviously the 32 x has less levels .

honestly considering this is the SNES the graphics actually look pretty good for a 3d game on the snes :-p

Why not do a comparison of the 32X and Super Nintendo ports of Doom, then whoever wins gets compared to the PC version?

The games that I put in () are actully made by other companies however they are part of ID franchies.

Some other games based on ID are ROTT (rise of the triads), Heretic 1 and 2, Hexen 1 and 2 etc...

I dont even call some games being ID games but rather ID and Raven software since they worked on so many titles togheter.

This game was nightmare material for me when I was little. I'm pretty sure any anxiety I've felt since I was 5 can be traced back to Doom and Turok. That's what happens when a little 5 year old girl sneaks and plays games she's not supposed to.

I was amazed that they were able to have Doom on the Snes at all! a 16 bit console! and this would have been like a next gen game on a current gen console!
