By 2006, it is estimated that more than 200,000 mothers, daughters, sisters and their female friends in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer. In support of patients and survivors during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Master IJO Designer Alisa Unger created the "Me and My Two Friends" ring. She hopes to raise $500,000 next year with sales of her line through retail jewelers.

"My sister-in-law Marissa passed away from breast cancer this past spring," stated designer Alisa Unger. "She hadn't had a breast exam in nine years. I designed this ring to serve as a daily reminder to encourage women to take care of themselves and each other." The 14K white gold ring embedded with .28tw of diamonds features three 14K pink gold ribbons which symbolize three friends is meant to remind women not only to schedule a regular breast exam for themselves but to encourage two friends to do so as well.
