Russian Kilo Class Submarine - Project 636 (P1/3)

Project 636 called by the US Navy "The Black Hole". Kilo class submarines are capable of operating very quietly, they are mainly intended for anti-shipping and anti-submarine operations in relatively shallow waters.

The windows are for being able to view outside without getting out of the submarine. I guess its helpful when surfacing in north pole or some other very cold places.

Why Russian submarines have windows-in sail/ fin ?

they are very noisy. not only submarines but also other weapons of russia are so lound when operating them. that is the death point of russia weapon.
