@Ladyblue449 I really don't know why his voice wasn't ruined from drugs because it seems that his voice just kept getting stronger as he got older. Things impact people differently, I guess.

David Ruffin and Marvin Gaye I think had the best voices in the generation of Soul, Mo-Town. Classic voices.

I guess if you're a fan of Ruffin, you like this. But after listening to the original by Tony Jow White, and the cover by Brook Benton, this is like a flat beer compared to a fresh Heineken. Nice try, though....

David Ruffin is one of my all time favorite vocalist. And, this rendition of Brooke Benton's classic is justification. I've heard many of David's songs but I've never heard this one. Simply amazing. This version just left me speechless. David Ruffin is one of the unique talents that ever lived. I wish more of today's artist took their craft as serious as most of the artists did back in the day. Mr. Ruffin, you are truly missed.
