THE word "koi" comes from the Japanese, simply meaning "carp." It includes both the dull grey fish and the brightly colored varieties. A homophone of koi means "love, affection" and koi are therefore symbols of love and friendship in Japan...
There are a total of 7 varieties of Koi in Guan's Koi Pond..so far...,
1. Showa - A black-skinned Koi with a Red and White Pattern
2. Kohaku - A white-skinned Koi with a Red pattern
3. Ogon - A Koi that is one solid colour, can be regular or metallic
4. Utsuri - A black-skinned Koi with white pattern
5. Sanke X 2
6. Peacock
The fishes are fed with Hikari Pellets daily, Papaya and other fresh vegetables occationally.
These Koi are specially imported directly from Japan by air
