I used to hate birds. I just thought it was like having a pet insect or reptile who has no discernible affection for humans, but recently have met a pet cockatoo and even chicken who communicate and even cuddle with their owners. Cockatoos seem even more needy, which is really adorable. I think I may end up adopting one. Very intelligent animals.
