12 - 5' x 5' pallets, projected cost: $6000 maximum. Projected yield: $30,000 to $40,000 worth of strawberries annually. (9 plants / sq. ft., 4 lbs. yield per plant, $3 / lb. pick your own roadside lot + drying and vacuum sealing and selling any unsold excess. $2700 per 25 sq. ft. pallet @100 percent yield, but realistically $2500 per pallet with normal losses and expenses. 4 lbs. per plant is expected, and so these figures are based on that, but as high a yield as 7 lbs. per plant is possible.)

The $6000 price tag assumes a $4000 professionally poured reinforced concrete box. Made by hand using poured Styrofoam stabilized papercrete slabs, the cost of the box would be $1000, and the total price tag would be $3000. Using an 10% epoxy / 90% sand/dirt/soil extrusion machine, the cost for the box would be $600.

The pallet assemblies are not permanently joined, just stacked using locating pins. The brown sheet is the seed carpet.

An improved and much more descriptive text annotated version of this video will be forthcoming.
