You MORONS. Go take a grammar lesson. The tragedy in Dallas DID intervene on the agreements that Goldwater and Kennedy were hammering out. The 21st century of the use of the word intervention to mean a last ditch effort to overcome an addiction is just that, a 21st century colloquialism. He did say intervention, and it had nothing whatsoever to do with addiction.
