I join the action in Admiralty, marching with the demonstrators until the end, the government offices in Central where protesters leave banners and shout slogans. The people of Hong Kong shall redress their many grievances.

  • While we're at it; the serious case of oppression is a matter of culture; that is - playing into stereotypes - when people teach for procedure, and not for effectiveness, and then someone instead of obsequiously teaching by the exact book, tries to teach for effectiveness, it won't be the Communist Party, but verily your administrators and colleagues shall heap scorn lustily upon you. Think about the relationship between Jesus and the Pharisees. Jesus deviated from the Jewish curriculum.

  • Thanks for recording the demonstration. We have been marching for a better system for HK since 2003. There could be certain fragmented marching objectives. It is exactly that we need a working system - universal suffrage to voice out different people's needs. RTHK is very much worth marching for this year because 95% of news media is already controlled by China after 97.

  • I agree. Though there are many causes, each has its merits to express in a democracy. I certainly don't want the right to assemble and the right to free speech to be smothered as totalitarian China creeps over the territory!

  • 95% of HK media control by the CHinese gov't ?? where the hell did you get that idea from? Oh my god!

lol i am glad that only 99 viewings of this video !! who cares! i feel very free in HK. I dont feel oppressed at all!

  • Have you tried working in a school as a teacher and trying to teach against the government-mandated curriculum? You may develop a serious case of oppression!

  • LOL can you tell me which nation doesn't mandate - currculum?

Oh and please ... while you are at it! Advocate for western nations to teach in their schools the history of the OPIUM WAR and the Boxer WAR!! I never learned that in High school (Canada). Why is that??

If you are naive enough to believe that the world is perfect - especially western world - lol ...... you fool!!

  • Try not to flame.

Our educational experiences are different because at least in the United States, districts and states set curricula; I'm not sure how curricula is set in Canada. I l have earned more about Chinese history in my public high school, as well as in my university, than, I conjecture, most of the kids that I have taught in Hong Kong will ever learn; but, let me emphasize that teaching the material isn't the same as learning it.

  • I always feel sick when you call yourself a patriot. your so-called patriotism is only your vanity. It is totally a disgrace and shame! Stop "loving" China! You selfish, ignorant, naive, vain and hypocrite fascist are not qualified to be called "Chinese" at all! If you love censorship and propaganda so much, PLEASE f--k with them at home. Do not do it in front of people! China needs real patriot like me!

  • You had to repeat that???

  • Well I'm glad you don't have anything against westerners. But you ask why we care about China's history? Well alot of people like China and to some of us it's interesting to learn. There are some of us who don't care about China's history of course. And with your comment on black people being slaves? Guess what? The western media and educational system only teaches what white people did to no whites. Anti racism is just another term for anti white. But few of us realise it in the west.

  • GOOD then i rest my case!! But let me be clear that i have nothing against westerns ! As I myself grew up in Canada!

OH and yeah ... i wouldn't care more for the American freeing of the slave in the 1800's or when white americans were torturing them Black slaves! So i guess .. why would AMericans or westerns care about the history of China - and the 5000 years of it?? Haha

  • I thought you were from Hong kOng! Lol... I was wrong! Martin Lee was a member of parliament in HK.

  • LOL any person in poverty in any country on earth feels oppression and mistreated!! Ask a person who is living in the ghettos in AMerican if they feel oppressed or not!!

  • And one more thing. You have no need to be angry at people in the western world. Wanna know why? Because most people in Canada, USA, Britian, Australia would actually agree with what ever CCP does. CCP kills people at Tiananmen square? Most of my people don't care. CCP puts pressure on Taiwan? Guess what? Most westerners support China. Go to mainland China where there's alot of foreigners. Talk with them about the Taiwan issue. Most will agree with you Taiwan is part of PRC.

  • First of all, who the hell is Martin Lee? Second of all, some Chinese mainland citizens would actually insist that mainland China is the most FREE place on earth. Third of all, I have bitched at a cop in Canada before. See me? Standing here? Main problem with Canada is that they over-tax you.

  • True - money is freedom in any country!!

  • Well I think its time to smack those Martin Lee loving Hong Kongers and tell them that HK has returned to CHina! YOU are no longer some colonial bastard with no identity. You are CHinese! And you should be Proud of who you are! HOng KOng in my mind (having lived in Canada for more then 20 years) is the most FREE place on earth! One can even bitch at a police in HK - try bitching at a COP/police in Canada see what will happen to you!

Its sad that I "Oversea HKer" is more patriotic then .... u
