This should be titled "Why I can't spell wear".

LASIK is not a permanent fix and your eyes change every 5 years. Make sure you understand this. Do you know that you're electing to pay a Lying LASIK Quack and their commissioned staff, $4k to permanently slice a FLAP into both of your eyes, leaving your eyes dryer than the previous year, getting worse every year, causing you MUCH pain. Hence the reason the FDA's website warns everyone: "the number one complication from ALL LASIK procedures is permanent Dry Eye Pain..." You've been warned!

@dkantis Please explain how my eyes change every 5 years. I assume you mean prescription? That may be true when you're <18. But assuming you don't have drastic changes in lifestyle in that time period, prescriptions stabilize.

@thetruth8699 Wow what a joke. Nerves in your eye? You mean nerve bundles. Slicing a nerve fiber would lead to blindness. And LASIK is supported by ACA because EBM shows nerve tissue fully regenerated 2 years Post OP and 65% by 3 months. The only complications of less nerve bundles is slightly dry eyes.

Did anyone click this video for any reason other than the title? I didn't...
Based on survey data, only around 5% of corneal refractive surgeons have had some form of refractive surgery themselves.
I would bet that there are very few... perhaps NO corneal refractive surgeons who have had LASIK in the past several years. They know better. If they have corneal refractive surgery at all, they would have a surface ablation.
For those who are satisfied, consider yourself a winner in the game of Russian Roulette.

@thetruth8699 what is surface ablation?
miyoudkla 1 month ago
@miyoudkla Surface ablation means that they don't slice your eye and lift it up like the opening of a tin can. Therefore, there's less cutting of nerves with surface ablation (i.e. PRK) as compared to LASIK. However, there are 2 reasons that LASIK is more popular. Since LASIK slices more nerves and they don't scrape the surface of your eye like PRK, there's less post-op pain and more "wow" factor. Also, there's less frequent post-op visits required and greedy LASIK MDs like that.
