The Rowlett High School 2003 Marching Performance 'Locomotion'. Performed at The North Texas Band Championship in 2003.
This is also my favorite show, we maxed out the speed at 182 bpm.
And yes, I am in a close up.

PS. This is a temporary upload, I have plans for the future that aren't yet confirmed, so be hopeful.

  • This recording does not do justice to the power of sound they had that year. Rowlett hosted my high school that year, and I was blown away by them! We ended up doing this show two years later. It put a really good impression on my directors. :0) Thanks for posting

  • Thanks! How did y'all do? Just curious, what high school did you go to?

  • I went to Franklin High School in El Paso, Texas. I was a sophomore that year. The head director of Rowlett taught there in 1993 or so. Haha, well at NTBC we got like 19th BUT West Texas band programs are far less superior than East Texas so it was sweet we didn't come in last haha. If you search for epbands on youtube you can see El Paso bands :) and our rendition of Locomotion.

  • I can say that y'all went faster than we did which made it sound very different. I thought it was pretty good, but who am I to know good from bad. I'm always on the field...heh

    Thanks for sharing!

Although I wonder if my teacher knew this...hmm

  • so clean and smooth. every section was crazy strong! those trumpets were amazing!

  • Very impressive I've seen this show done many times and everyone always adds a little something different. As a sax player I like the Tenor Sax Solo but it sounded really nice coming from trumpets too. Great Job and Great sound.

  • I like it alot (: We are doing this show for this the next school year. I'm pretty excited, but nervous. I like the music alot. & this is from Texas right? Whoa! It sounds amazing. The trumpet solos are really good.

  • BRAVO BRAVO OH MY FREAKING GOD YOU GUYS NAILED IT! One of key poulan very difficult compositions which no band dares to take on....you guys sure did surprised me,lol.

  • I remember playing this show my junior year. I played 2nd bass. We won best drumline at all the competitions we went to. I think you should have played the bass run as written, like in this video at 7:23...just search RGC Locomotion

  • My daughter was a sophmore in the band this year - the sound does not give it justice to being there !! I still get chills 7 years later !!

  • Check out George directing at 2:55 he really got his hips into it :-P

  • Bravissimi!!! Wonderfull ! !

  • I loved watching this! My band, Irmo High School from SC performed this show in 2003-2004 season. It brought back great memories. I play sax, but we also used trumpet for the mvt. 2 solo, Michael Martin. What a beast jazz player.. We did very well with this show taking it to the tropicana field BOA placing 3rd in semi and 6th in finals. Then took SC 4A lower state with it and placing 3rd in SC 4A Championships. Director that year was Duane Minnick

  • I can't find the Southern Regional High School one that we did in 2003-2004 season. Its almoat alike! We won with a 98.0!

  • 4:23..that was a stinkin fat F
