  • We need to tell DeafCube to remove HH from the title. That is not Deafhood. Deaf includes everyone.

  • Mmm...you got me thinking... I will need to vlog about this and why we should or should not remove HoH from DeafCube and what Deafhood means to those people... You got me thinking and I will vlog hopefully this weekend. :) Thank you for this comment!

  • hey there.. good vlog.. mind me ask where u get that cube?? I like that cube!!!

  • @WH1122 -- and we still have to respect each other's view in the Deaf community - that is something that we all need to learn how to listen and think carefully and also respect other people's view. We can not always assume of each person's identity. It is not right at all because assuming can be dangerous if we only put one label while others do not want that label of their identity. That's all I am trying to say... keep an open-minded about that. That is all. :)

  • No, Deaf does not mean with all labels of HH, Deaf-Blind, etc; because we all have different identities, and if you put "Deaf", how can we assume that this person is Deaf, not Deaf-Blind?? We need to know each individual's identity in the Deaf community. I have been learning a lot about Deaf issues and ASL in ASL (and Deaf) program at college since this Fall and it has taught me so much to be open-minded and think of other people's view, whether we like it or not...

  • Deaf already means HH, Deaf-Blind, etc. Same thing with Blind means low vision, full Blind, etc. We do not have to list everything. Should we say Deaf, HH, Late Deafened, Hearing-impaired, Hearing-Challenged? Too much!! Best to say Deaf for all. We need space for Deaf. Hearing can join, but it is still Deaf people's home.

  • Many years ago as a kid, I cheated on the cube by peeling the sticker off and re-arrange them as if I really did beat the cube.

But I never beat the cube, though!

    R-

  • Mikey, wanted to say great vlog. I plan to say something to one of your vlogs in ASL soon... Thank you for letting me know about DeafCube... and again, great vlog! :)

  • Capitalize Deaf... I do that, too.. but again, we need to respect everyone's identities... no matter what, we still always have to respect everyone's identities. If someone uses their identity as "deaf", I WILL NOT CRITICIZE that person because it is his or her own identity - period. That is my two cents... :)

  • Why remove HH? Hard of Hearing is part of Deaf community.... We need to respect other people's own identities in the Deaf community... Not everyone is DEAF... Like Mikey said, hearing people are welcome as long as they know sign language.. so should we remove Hearing from title as well while removing HH from title??

  • bummer.. lol thanks anyhow..

  • The Deaf-Blind community does not really do Deaf/HH-Blind or HH-Blind. Deaf-Blind includes HH! HH people need to realize that they are already included when we say Deaf. My two cents. Another thing -- capitalize Deaf! DeafCube has a lot of potential. It should be a better home for all of us than DeafRead and DeafVideo.
