Digital thermometer using the PIC18f4520 micro controller and a DS1631 digital thermometer chip. This is all connected to an LCD screen to update the temperature of the room once a second. The connection between the chip and micro controller is I2C.

I put my finger on top of the digital thermometer chip, to increase the temperature.

I was using a voltage regulator to power my LCD ( from 5 to 3.3) and this is why the LCD back light flickers.

  • Great job mate! Right now I'm having real trouble connecting a CMPS09 compass to an 18F4520. Have had i2c working fine with an Usonic sensor but this has got me stumped. Did you have any problems?
