I used to live in Ruston, on Shirley Street, and then on the corner or 51st and Pearl, above Coles Tavern, (when it was still there) and I have so many good memories of this area. Thanks for the vid. Out in NH currently, but plan to return to WA to settle down, for good, at some point.

You live on McKinley Hill? I'm very familiar with that area of Tacoma, as I used to live there in that neighborhood (right up the street from Mottet Library, near McKinley Avenue. I remember when they were building the Tacoma Dome back in the '80s. In fact, my dad lives on E. 34th. Street, near the two bridges going over the gulches (as you're heading to Pacific Ave.)
