On this Sunday, the Sacrament - what Mormons call the remembrance of the Last Supper and what other Christians call Communion - is said in French, a nod to the area's burgeoning West African population.

Yes, there are white missionaries handing out bulletins at Washington's Third Ward - what Mormons call their congregations - but there's also Ruth Williams, an elderly African-American woman, decked out in her Sunday best, doing the same.

I thought he "supposably" read the gold plates and seer stones in a hat or something. And if no one else saw what he was translating, how do we know he's even really translating and not making it all up? If he did say he met God and Christ, why is it that there is no actual physical proof of that? Living in our time, if you make a claim, you must have evidence. Living in his time, people would believe anything, that anyone says. like "You're a witch!! BURN!" How do we really know he's honest

While the Christmas season is typically a time for looking back and celebrating the birth of our Lord, it seems to me that it should also be a time of looking to the future. Let us look forward. Let us prepare for that blessed day when He will come again. Let us be as wise as those ancients who watched for His coming. As His disciples, let us have in our hearts and minds the words of John: “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
