David Harvey, Professor of Geography and Anthropology
Graduate Center, City University of New York.
Three years after the near collapse of global financial markets, America is still struggling with unemployment, debt, and foreclosure, European governments are teetering on the brink of bankruptcy—and the world's billionaires are getting richer faster than ever before. The current situation is not sustainable. But what changes need to be made to overcome this mounting crisis of our world economic system? How radical an adaptation will be required? David Harvey, the brilliant theorist and scathing critic of postmodern society, looks at what the future holds for global capitalism.

That's because Fresco has been working on the subject for that many years. But it's hard to disagree with his core ideas.

While I agree with its critique of the problem, the Venus Project's designs look like a 1970's 'vision of the future' and their hive like planning of society is a little creepy, dontcha think Sammy? Modernist interpretations of the future that ignore the past become dated quickly.

thanks slinkyblue, you saved an hour of my time :). If this video states that capitalism and corporatism are two unrelated problems then I think this video will only annoy me. How can "brilliant theorist" come to that conclusion. For the sake of keeping an open mind I will come back to this video another day but for now I have gained an hour of life >.<

Your mistake is differentiating Capitalism from Corporatism. In a capitalist system, those with capital will use that capital in ways that maximize their returns; including investment in controlling the state.
Corporatism is an essential part of capitalism. Capitalism has never historically existed in a space in which business did not interfere in public policy. Look at the East India Trading Co.

who curses or swears on the internet you should propably not use the internent or learn to ignore those that wish to offend you. What has the constructive change and progress have to do with cursing in the internet? Do you really believe that my "cyber behavior" is similar to my real one? Or do you think people and human societies along with them will change or learn though internet discussions and arguments?

Conducting a discussion In Youtube is pretty much impossible. Too few a people are willing to discuss and even fewer are willing to discuss the stuff I am interested in. Like I said, your perception of "good" is different than mine. Since this is youtube, an internet site, where people never really talk face to face, people say or type stuff they obviously don't mean. Curses are nothing more than expressions and are not meant to insult, most of the time. If you are offended by someone --->
