André Watts playing the Ossia Finale to Rach 3 3rd Movement. How it's meant to be played ;) Here Rachmaninoff substitutes quater note triplets with regualar eighth notes.

If you like this recording then I strongly recommend that you buy the whole CD (2nd & 3rd Concerto) from http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/music/pid/5733948/a/R... You won't regret it!

If anyone would like the sheet music, just ask.

  • As much as I'd love to, I feel it'd be a bit unfair as it's © and all the rest.

You can use the link in the description to buy the 2nd & 3rd Concerto CD for only $6.65 (£3.30/€4.30). Unfortunately it's a CD recording and there's no video :(

  • awesome octaves!

  • Yup! I'd love to see him play it instead of just hearing.

  • Wow thanks for showing me this, I had no clue anyone played the Ossia for the ending.

  • Just heard Alexander Korsantia play this ossia version last Saturday. Resulted in a standing ovation. I completely think this is the better version.

  • @solveaproblem she doesnt play this version, listen carefully at the end she only plays quarter note triplets throughout the ending of the finale

  • @harryg94 Grigory Solokov tries as well.

  • it´s so weird that rachmaninoff didn´t do this ossia in the finale but he play the ossia of the first movement, maybe he had his reasons or he could not play it?.

    Watch Rachmaninoff playing his concerto.

  • Rachmaninoff's nickname is GOD.

  • @harryg94 Check out Martha Argerich's recording with Ricardo Chailly. She also plays this version. Phenomenal
