  • @Lovesthemusic1 He really didn't eat that often in Alhambra. His parents got hooked on Chinese food once he went off to college in 1972( in DC ).There were two big Chinese restaurants in Alhambra but he can't remember the names. They were across the street from each other. They did go to the Pepper Mill in the western part of Pasadena.I think it closed in the late '80'.It was in sort of a residential area.

  • @HattieLovesCattie I looked up the place, its still open. Its spelled Twoehey or something.

  • @Lovesthemusic1 He doesn't remember Twoeey's but his Mom shopped at that ThriftyMart.

  • @Lovesthemusic1 I asked him and he never ate there or heard of it.His family usually ate in the valley or in Alhambra or downtown Pasadena. They also ate at cousins's homes too.My hubby doesn't remember that much as he has been away from LA for so long.He does remember cheap Big Boys on Colorado Blvd in Eagle Rock.Once his Mom went back to work, they ate at nicer places. There was a Tony's in Pasadena or Eagle Rock, famous Italian place with good ribs.Is Big Boys still there in Eagle Rock?

  • @Lovesthemusic1 I did take a tour thru Universal Studios and saw some of the homes used in shows.Of course most of them are just front walls, nothing behind it.I didn't move to Calif 'til 1978 but did go there to visit in '76 and '77.We saw Farrah Fawcett on the set at US.She was walking away, she had been visiting Lee there. She would become a houseshold name a year later. Are you still living in LA?My hubby grew up mostly in Eagle Rock then later Pasadena ( he was in college by then ).

  • @Lovesthemusic1 Thanks for the info.My hubby grew up in LA so will ask him exactly where in south LA ( crappy parts ).Its sad the bus is gone.

  • @Lovesthemusic1 Where is that Mexican restaurant parking lot in LA?

  • What ever happened to the bus?

  • What was this from?

  • omg thanks!!
