This is just what I've been trying to make for upcoming xena movie. My parents aren't convinced it is very safe, but I've already bought some wire. I still need to buy a harness and a pulley and stuff. Did you guys just attach the wire to a tree? I'm not sure how to set up the pulley to the tree, do you have any tips on how to do that?
Thank you!!

There are 2 different ways to do it, and sometimes you can combine both ways...

1) You use wire removal feature in Adobe After Effects, which you basically keyframe a line over the wire and AE will mirror a little to the left and a little to the right, covering up the wire (cable works best cuz its thinner and in sunlight sometimes cant even be seen)...or ... 2) Film with the camera locked on a tripod, film your wire stunts, then move everthing out of the way so as to get a blank scene, then you mask (or layer) part of the empty scene over the wires in the action scene.

lets see: PVC pipe $1.00, climbing(rappelling rope) or any strong rope $40.00(depending on length/quality), 2 pulleys(can be cheap & strong)$20,homemade harness using frieght belts or long velcro/vinyl secured with duct tape $10. We already had this stuff laying around, so we only bought duct tape. Oh yeah, we used couch cushions for when training. Remember to resecure everything after doing several flips or twists because those weaken the ropes and connections or buy some swivels.
