The second ending of the anime series Outlaw Star. The song is "Tsuki No le" by Akino Arai. This is yet another soulful song by the same artist who did the first ending, I feel it suits the series very well. It's unfortunate that Toonami had to go, but this is one series that will always live on in my heart.

A while back, someone in the comment section came up with an interesting theory pertaining to the pictures. According to him/her, the images are basically "snap shots" of everyday life in the future ( or the time that OS takes place) - Assuming that there will be significant technological and scientific advancements in the future- the females posing in space (improved space travel) or next to hybrid animals ( advancements in genetic engineering)...

it could be something deep we might be missing. But since we have yet to learn all the details, its best to assume that this is one of those fanservices that are done right. I mean...REALLY right. So much better than the kind of fanservice we have now that's riddled with unoriginality, overused cliches in plots and characters, and nasty softcore porn that kept rubbing in our faces while killing the purpose of a decent plot.

That's the best speculation I've heard so far; a friend of mine said it may be concept art though that wouldn't make much sense considering the imagery isn't always relating to the anime itself... and it's always portraying women. Perhaps there is something deeper going on here that we're missing..

I don't get much of it either, but all I can guess is this. Fanservice. But the good kind of fanservice that leaves a calming yet tears-of-joy kind of feeling after seeing episodes that are epic, dramatic and maybe depressing at times. At least thats what I'm thinking.

Anyone else wonder how the images shown are related to the anime? Haven't seen it in years but I always recall as a kid not having a clue about those females.. :/

Actually I do, I don't need subtitles, to know a good anime.

You obviously are not watching the good anime. Walk into the world of subtitles and there is a lot more amazing things to see.
