  • @fbenenati You are not accurate about "All Mustangs had the Packard Merlin" There were 5 production models of the Mustang that saw service in WWII & Korea. Mustang II, P-51A Mustang, A-36 "Apache" Attack Mustang, F-6A Mustang and F-82 Twin Mustang were ALL powered by the Allison V-12. Page 180-188 of the book you Ref. by Mr. Robert Gruenhagen talks extensively about these Allison Powered Mustangs, including great detailed photos of the Allison engine itself!!

  • Reg Urschler gave me a ride in Gunfighter in 2003. That was 30 minutes I'll NEVER forget! Best money I ever spent...

  • mmmmmmmm nice recognize that "Merlin" sound from 50 miles away LOL!!

  • @Scharfschutzen1

i have to agree the fockewulfs were good fighters durin the german theater in WWII, but they were no match for the guns of the mighty 8th or for the RAF spits. other wise they were good fighters. just sayin. and i'm not knockin the german fighters.

  • B/G Regis Urshler has flown this aircraft for a lonog time. He is a wonderful guy who has shared the beauty of this mustang with many people. I believe it is based at Council Bluffs, Iowa.

  • I agree with you about it being the best fighter aircraft of WW II. To be accurate about the engine, all mustangs had the Packard Merlin, a variant of the Rolls Royce, manufactured in the US, according to Mustang authority Robert Gruenhagen in his book "Mustang". It truly is the "Cadillac of the sky", a line from "Empire of the sun". This is a nice video of Gunfighter.

  • Best fighter aircraft of ww2 ,with the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine.

  • That is an amazing plane.

  • What a great piece of history, Thnx for keeping the American tradition

  • great tunes in the background
