Monty Collier the Antinomian Hyper-Calvinist (aka CalvinistChurch) thinks the Free Offer of the Gospel is heresy...

Here is his video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAc1-ImQFmI

He presents three verses that he thinks refute the Free Offer....

Do they really refute it? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

  • You need some very serious dental work.

    Isn't socialistic medicine great?

/// I wonder what God meant in Prov. 1:26 when He said, "I will also laugh at your calamity, I will mock when terror strikes you? ///

With regards to their vain attempts of putting things straight themselves - but this has nothing to do with the Free Offer of the Gospel, and certainly doesnt contradict it!

...For God elsewhere says "As I live, saith the LORD, I have NO PLEASURE AT ALL that the wicked die, but that they turn from their wicked ways and live!"

  • @Haukman66

/// Yet it was the "will" of the Lord to crush Him!! ///

    Yes - His "DECRETIVE" will!

/// you insist on saying "it was the pleasure/desire of the Lord for them to die". Thats not what it says! ///

    I am referring to 1 SAM.2:25!

"they hearken not to the voice of their father, though Jehovah hath DELIGHTED to put them to death"

The word "delighted" is "châphêts".... and means "to incline to; to be pleased with; to desire; have pleasure, will"

    Compare with EZKIEL33:11

  • @doctorh2005 I am floored, you dont know what the text says! It says , Yet it was the "will" of the Lord to crush Him!! You do realize, that text is talking about the crucifixion of Christ, and God the Father pouring out His wrath on His son? I have no idea, why you insist on saying " it was the pleasure/desire of the Lord for them to die". Thats not what it says!

I wonder what God meant in Prov. 1:26 when He said, "I will also laugh at your calamity, I will mock when terror strikes you?

/// By YOUR "ideology", God is commanding something, and He "ardently desires" the repentance of all, yet, He doesnt grant all repentance!!! ///

And there is nothing wrong with that, because we do something called "CLARIFYING" our terms - which you dont understand.

God's "Ardent desire" is concerned with His BENEVOLENCE (who He is and what He 'by nature' is inclined to)

By "granting salvation to some" is concerned with His DECREE / DECRETIVE will

  • @Haukman66

/// By calling one a "decretive" will, and the other, a "benevolent" will, does not make them NOT contradict. ///

Friend.... if you DIDNT distinguish one from the other then you WOULD have a flat out contradiction! For one place says "God DESIRED" the death of someone.... and yet God says straight out "Do I "desire" the death of ANYONE?"

According to the context of Scripture, the first one is referring to His DECREE, and the other His BENEVOLENCE.

  • @Haukman66

    /// "HIM", not "them". ///

"Him" or "Them" is besides the point! The point is, it says "It was the "pleasure/desire" of the LORD for them to die"... and yet, God says in EZEKIEL 33:!1 "Do I have ANY plesaure/desire that the wicked die and not that they should turn from their ways and live?".

Therefore, the one is referring to His DECRETIVE will/pleasure/desire.... and the other, His "BENEVOLENT" will/pleasure/desire.

  • @doctorh2005 thing is, you cannot see your own contradictory statements. By calling one a "decretive" will, and the other, a "benevolent" will, does not make them NOT contradict. By YOUR "ideology", God is commanding something, and He "ardently desires" the repentance of all, yet, He doesnt grant all repentance!!! And He is the One who works repentance in the unregenerate. Contradiction? YEP.

  • @doctorh2005 Wow, just when I thought we had come to a point where nothing else could be said, you say, "That is blasphemous and goes against Scripture - for God says "Have I ANY "desire" at all that the wicked die?".... and yet in another place, it says "For it was the LORD's "desire" to kill them."

For one, it was the "desire" (actually "will" is used there, or KJV uses , it "Pleased" the Lord )of the Lord to kill "HIM", not "them". Learn to read. Maybe that is your problem. Just sayin'.

  • @Haukman66

/// I only see in scripture, where it actually says "will", that God will bring it to pass. Period. ///

What does that have to do with the Free Offer of the Gospel???

The words "OH THAT" imply an explicit "desire" for something do they not??? (and no, Deuteronomy 5:29 isnt the only verse mentioned in support if you bothered to read the booklet.)
