This was a project I made in the spring of '02. It was made after 9/11, but I tried to keep away from any references to that event. It was really inspired by Baudrillard's America and a Godspeed You! Black Emperor song. I made it under a pretty tight deadline, learning new tricks and techniques as I went along. I've often thought about remaking it, or doing something similar, but that wouldn't be for a while.

  • This is very intresting, in fact mind blowing. I'am a huge fan of Godspeed also..what is the name of the song in the intro? Anyways I love the way you used the images and almost played with my mind...amazing.

  • The song in the intro was something I did. It doesn't really have a name, and has nothing to do with Godspeed except I was listening to them a lot at the time. I just needed something to layer over the narration, and in hindsight should have layered some effects over my voice but I wasn't that into sound design at the time. It was made five years ago, and I definitely have more tricks up sleave than I did then.

  • this is great!

  • Thank you for the compliment. I've always had mixed feelings about this project. It was a really personal vision, and there was a very intense process to make it. Its not perfect, but at least its not timid. Maybe its both baroque and esoteric, which can't be said for a lot of things.

  • i love it awesome

  • I will not say that you are wrong, but this world is surrounded by media. People like yourself chasetheballer resource to the web, to find out what is occurring in the world. This is the way of musetaven show his opinion. Whether you like it or not, this world is corrupt, some spread the word, others actually act, but at end we are part of it. by "it" I mean the world.

I like your interpretation of this song musetavern.

  • well, I knew it wasn't godspeed, but it sounded so great. Anyways props for the comment, and also the great music. thanks!

  • Godspeed should be proud. As innovative as they were, the music will live on when we pass traffic jams, concrete and glass mountains, and the daily grind where the hamsters run in circles. You painted a picture that helps visually bring to life what Godspeed does with the imagination. One thank everyday this song is played!

  • This is beautifully executed. The imagery, the poetic words...it's a beautiful thing.

  • Superb!
