that information is incorrect, the info from treasury was a leaked email between treasury and dept. of labour, and it was the personal opinion of 1 treasury worker thinking it would not cost jobs. nek minnit over 6000 jobs lost.

@crc22887 John Key claims that increasing the minimum wage to $15 an hour will “put 6000 people out of work.” However, this is not a supposition supported by either the Labour Dept. or Treasury. The Department of Labour calculated that increasing the minimum wage to $15 an hour *could* result in a “potential loss in job growth” of 4,280 – 5,710 jobs. That’s very different from putting 6000 people out of work, as Key implies.
