If you use our videos or choreography please give us our due credit!

This dance is not supposed to be strictly traditional Filipino tinikling. Yes, it's not necessary authentic in the true essence, but our group and choreographers strive to incorporate a lot of different dance styles. Cultural ideals and dances are meant to be shared and fused and learned, we're not trying to insult any culture and ask that you don't try to insult the work that we put to *try* to honor different groups. Thank you.

  • it's kinda hiphop but it shows the moderness of tinikling

  • In the end, we never claimed for this to be a traditional piece of tinikling as we are a group that has tended to do a lot of fusion of modern and traditional moves. So while we may have moved away from the strictly traditional stuff, I agree with Jamie, that I feel this helps show how tinikling can be adapted with other music and moves.

  • @tvitorillo how is this disrespecting our national dance? all dances are altered at one point or another to adapt to the dancer's abilities. im a pinay, and i dont see anything wrong with this. our schools filipino club has a version of the dance. does that mean we're disrespecting our own culture?

  • I think you all need to chill out and just watch. Just sayin'.

  • doesn't it kill your feet wearing rubber shoes in tinikling? :D

  • what's the name of the tinikling song?

  • TINIKLING is our National Dance and it is like our National Anthem and SHOULD NOT BE ALTERED in any ways. It should be respected.

  • This is sort of cheating though, of course you can adapt it to modern styles if you want to but the purpose of going barefoot is supposed to be a risk factor in the dance. By wearing thick rubber shoes, you take away the risque function of the dance which is integral to it.

  • aww, im in canada now and im 2nd yr highschool here... im supposed to be 4th yr but they have gr 7 nd 8 before highschool sighh.... but i remember dancing tinikling for some school performance when i was like grade 4? haha fun memories !

  • So many prudes here for all the wrong reasons. This video isn't going to kill tinikling. Tinikling will always be there. It's a group of kids experimenting and being creative. "What if we fuse hiphop with tinikling?" This is how art has always worked. Sometimes it works, sometimes not, but that shouldn't stop you from trying. The haters reminds me of the Pinoys who keep their couches wrapped in plastic, let their kids play with stuff toys mummified in plastic. "Baka masira!" Go out and dance!

  • Next time ya'll should light the sticks on fire!!! Good job on the choreo :)

  • dancers was just jumping, you also have to dance with the hands. well not bad
