The first song I heard was so obviously Ska that its ridiculous. Everyone knows what ska/punk/pop-punk guitar playing and drumming sounds like, and thats what it was. The 2nd song is the same without the ska.... AHH, Planes Mistaken For Stars, now theres some 90's emo. The Blacktop Cadence, too. Now you're on the right track. Christie Front Drive would have been a good example for describing the extreme of where the genre went in the mid 90's.

i like both 90s emo and the "emo" nowadays. but i dont really label myself emo o anything i just like the music i hear so dont thumb me if u do then ur narrowminded xD
