The Common Sense approach to doing business in Russia.
Many companies have contemplated entering the Russian market, but unfortunately, most stumble at the first hurdle, finding honest, factual and unbiased advice, but that is not true for all of them.




Nicholas Goodwin, Enterprise Russia's MD is highly critical of the run of the mill export consultants offering services for Russia.
"Most are generalist." Nick commented in a recent TV interview, "Jack-of-all-trades who think that producing a business plan is the answer to everything.
At Enterprise Russia we take a totally different approach. Our advice is targeted directly at our Client's needs and budgets, and is based solely on our personal experience and the type of insider knowledge and business contacts only available to those who have been on the market for as long as we have. They need facts not statistics!
Russia is a dynamic market, there are no off the shelf answers, no textbook solutions. Success can come from the strangest directions. The secret is about first seeing the opportunity, and then grabbing it before it is gone.

Frankly, I am sorry to say that having worked in Russia for over 20 years this advice is nonsense; what is being said is relevant for business throughout the world. The aspects of doing business in Russia which are peculiar to this country are neglected in this video and this will in no way help you to deal with situations that you will encounter here. My advice if you wish to conduct business in Russia is to talk to British companies who are present here and learn from their experiences.
