We are all sinners who have broken God's law (The Ten Commandments) by not honoring God wholeheartedly, putting things before God, by blaspheming using God's name in vain( ex. using curse words with God's name attached) , by not worshipping God, by dishonoring our parents, by having hatred in our hearts (Jesus said if you hate someone you will be in danger of the judgment), by lusting or looking at someone with sexual desire which Jesus said is adultery of the heart, by being a thief in God's eyes by taking things that are not ours (stealing is stealing regardless of the value), by telling lies, and by coveting (always desiring more, greed, etc). If we have broken even one of these laws in our entire lifetime than we are guilty (James 2:10) before a Holy and Righteous God and our punishment is hell. The Bible says that God's law allows us to recognize our sins (Romans 3:20) Now do you see why the Bible says "All have sinned and fall short before the glory of God (Romans 3:23)

But know that God is also a Loving God who offered us a way out of eternal punishment by sending His perfect sinless Son Jesus to take our place and pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross. Then he defeated death by rising from the grave! We broke God's law but Jesus paid our fine by his life's blood. You are now free to go and escape God's wrath of punishment of sin if you accept God's free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ (John 3:36). Repent of your sins to God and have faith in the Savior Jesus Christ (Acts 20:21)! Jesus will forgive your sins and give you a new heart! If anyone is in Christ, He is a new Creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)

  • great response!!!

  • So being convicted of sin through the 10 commandments, I repent and give my heart totally over to the Father accepting His wonderful gift of salvation through His Son, and following His guidelines of how to live in the Bible, which is the way of true love that is unconditional and Godly.

  • In The Holy Scriptures God inspired Moses to write ordinances for His people to live by, and Jesus affirmed them by commanding us to "Love our neighbors as ourselves" while reaffirming the greatest commandment "Love God with all your mind soul and strength". He paid the ultimate sacrifice so we no longer have to pay pennants, and He became our mediator to the Father through prayer.

  • I believe that God's word is truth, and that I am to live by His word in order to be close to Him. We are all cursed by sin, which keeps us far from Him, and it is through the 10 commandments that we realize that we have sinned and come short or His glory and are in need of His saving grace which was provided to us through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus.

  • well i think you may have answered your own question in that we are to love God with all our mind soul and strength and to love our neighbors as ourselves...in these things we are showing that we love God. By repenting of our sins, continuing to trust and place our faith in Jesus, witnessing and spreading the Gospel, helping others and etc. There are numerous ways to display our love for God that aligns with God's word. I don't know if that helps or not. What are your thoughts about the subject?

  • It is written in the Holy Scriptures that we are to love God with all our mind soul and strength... and to love our neighbor as ourselves (on these two hang all the law and prophets) and Romans 13: 8-10 describes love for neighbor, but where can we find how we should love God?

  • Also read Romans 13: 8-10 ...I came across it this morning. Hope it helps!

  • So to try to keep the commandments as "works" to save us is wrong because it is only by God's grace we are saved through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). But rather after someone puts there faith alone in Jesus Christ for their salvation and repents of their sins to God, then as an expression of gratitude for what the Savior has done for us, then obeying God and pleasing HIM will be our heart's desire

i prayerfully hope that helps answer your question

    In love,

    Darryl

  • Remember God's moral law, the Ten Commandments was given to show that we are all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. The law is given to show us our sin and then lead us to Christ for salvation so that we can repent and place our trust in Jesus Christ to be cleansed of all of our sins. Check out Galations 3:24

  • Is it all 10 of the commandments that we should keep or the ones we think are enough to please God?
