Greg plays bass in this band

  • Dude, have you ever listened to (early) Black Flag? The music pumps you up big time. People inevitably got rowdy even if the band didn't want that. Greg himself says he likes to approach the guitar in a percussionist way. It was huge, pounding rhythm. I don't think BF was trying to over throw any "system", They just hated the way they were treated and wrote songs about it.

  • Punk music is meant for you to overthrow the system, not punch someone in the face.

  • He reminds me of Jimmy Page in some ways but he has never admitted being influenced by Zeppelin. But wouldn't surprise me if he did listen to them at some point. Yeah, anyway... Greg Ginn isn't chained to one genre. He's more than just "punk." He's himself. I think Black Flag's best work is from "My War" on. Still like the earlier stuff too.

  • Greg Ginn is as awesome as ever! I think this tune is great!

  • I have been inspired to punch myself in the brain, however. Again, now. AHHHHH.

When I find somebody that I am pretty sure is a maniacal genius type that I totally dig, doing something that I can't really get into, I don't think, "man what a boring jerk he turned into," i think, "man, i need to rearrange my brain to try to get into what my homeboy is trying to get me into here."

But, I'm loyal to a fault. I feel the same way about George Jones.

  • I can tell a bunch of folks came to this video expecting to hear some familiar Nervous Breakdown style punk rock... This track is actually really good. It's jam music, background music, mood music, chill music. Not music to inspire you to want to punch someone in the face.

  • Interesting how some people find this cut boring. I find it addictive--can't tear myself away from it. The reason the riffs are repeated over and over is because they are so perfectly phrased with such dead on intonation. Hypnotic. But, hey, beauty's in the eye of the beholder. If you don't dig it you can stick with '84 Live. That never gets old either.

  • Not me!
