This is a video for art teachers and people who like Asian arts and crafts on how to make a tal (탈, Korean mask). It details the process in six steps. The pictures and videos were taken by me at Gyeongbok Palace in Seoul, where my Yonsei University Korean class went for our Level 5 field trip, to break up the monotony of the language classroom. These masks are used in traditional Korean mask dances, or talchum (탈춤). I hope you enjoy the video.

  • Unfortunately, I left Korea over a year and a half ago. Therefore I cannot help anyone with finding masks. Best of luck in finding them elsewhere!
