The Sanford H. Calhoun High School Choir, under the direction of S. Talbot Thayer, performs HEY, HO, THE WIND AND THE RAIN by Arthur Frackenpohl. This work is the third of the THREE SHAKESPEREAN SONGS commissioned by the Calhoun Choir for their performance at the 1964 MENC National Convention held in Philidelphia, Pennsylvania. The recording is taken from an old reel to reel tape and captured from an even OLDER tape player so the sound quality is not that good. Still, you can hear how wonderful the choir sounds. Enjoy!

  • This is great! The triads are so well shaped, and of course, perfectly in tune!

  • Interesting to compare the sound of this great Calhoun Choir with late Talbot's late 60's and 70's choirs. The latter choirs have a much less bright (dare I say dark) sound which I find much more mature and pleasing.
