His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Teaching Tour
25-27th September 2008

Location:-
Dharamsala aslo known as the little Lhasa of India is the home to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Government in Exile.

Topic of teaching:-
A Song of the stages of the path to enlightenment

--------

Eventhough HHDL was not feeling well, he chose to go ahead with the teaching to his devotees from Singapore, Taiwan, Japan etc..

----

My feeling after the tour?

Quote author Victor Chan in his book "The Wisdom of Forgiveness"
:- 'Aren't we all proud to be human? The Dalai Lama makes us feel good about being human. About being alive at a time when someone like him is around.'

------

May His Holiness the Dalai Lama and all the precious Gurus enjoy good health to continue to propagate the Dharma for the benefit of all sentient beings.

  • Please excuse my ignorance, but what are the cylinders and what is their significance?

  • Thanks for your comment.

It is a prayer wheel (Tibetan: 'khor).

According to the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, spinning such a wheel will have much the same meritorious effect as orally reciting the prayers.
