Actually Floyd challenged Mosley back in like '99 or something when Mosley was in his prime and Mosley declined. Mayweather was never afraid of Mosley. I think May just didn't want to give an over-the-hill Mosley a big payday in a meaningless fight when Mosley killed Floyd's chances of a megafight early on in his career. He probably felt like, "Why should I give him a big payday now that I'm the big dog, when he didn't want to even consider me when I was coming up?"
