@handidrummed i was under the impression rotation of the wrist is ok, but it is the bending motion which does the harm! is this not correct then?

Billy Cobham would tell you its all about twirling the stick within the fingers, barely gripping the stick at all...blah blah blah... while I like Cobham's playing, I would listen to you first any day. You out-groove him any day of the week. YOU GO!!!

Great to see a new video max! You're one of my favorites.
I feel I should add a word of caution though. As a drummer with Carpal Tunnel, and from what doctors and teachers have told me, I'd be careful using pivoting motions like this only using your wrist. Effective yes, but if you're not careful it may be strain on your wrist.

Hey Handidrummed, Thanks for your nice comments! I had tendonitis about 10 years ago because i was playing too stiff. I was not letting the stick bounce back so my wrist was absorbing all the shock of the stroke.I agree with you, if you're not careful you can hurt yourself but not just from a wrist turn. It comes down to if you're choking the stick or letting it rebound and allowing the drumhead to absorb the shock. Since allowing the stick to rebound using the freehand technique,
