  • Have you seen this single corner transposition into the "invincible line"? In my beginner days I used to see some weaker programs fall into this. 11-15 22-18 xx 8-11 29-25 10-14 24-19 11-16 26-22 16-20 28-24 4-8 19-15 7-11 24-19? 11-16 30-26 3-7 27-24 xx 16-20 32-27 7-10 15-11 xx 9-13 22-18 5-9 11-8 2-7 8-3 13-17 3-8 red to move and win. 7-11 x 17-22 x 12-16 I used to call it the "double brooklyn." Never seen a human use 26-22 at white move 5 though; they seem to like 25-22 or 27-24.

  • @APolaris Thank you very much! I am going to go over this in the next few days. I been going over this variation recently but in a different way. Being from Brooklyn, i like the name "double Brooklyn. Nice work!!

  • There may be variations, but in the "official" rules, is it ok to jump your own checkers? I know people that play this way, and they don't remove their own checkers, its just a way to have more freedom to move. I had never heard of this.

Most instructions I have seen don't mention this. The only thing it said in the instructions is that all jumped checkers must be removed from the board, which would mean that you would have to remove your own checkers, which would be a big disadvantage.

  • @romansten9 You are correct the rules is just like you said, you cannot jump over your own checkers. You also have to jump when you have one mandatory jump but you can choose which way you jump. You also remove your opponent checkers after the completion on the jumps again just like you said. There was a variation game called "kings" that you could jump over your own man. You can go to "The Checker Maven" by Bob Newell. for more. There are different variations in Checkers. Thank you!

  • If i was younger, i would say "duh" to the title of this video. But omg, i lose many matches because im don't see if the next move is fatal or not. Recently, i gave my opponent a double checker jump and i resigned from the game. I hate myself now but every failure is a gift because it shows your flaws. My flaw in that game is that i don't look ahead "always." I do in the beginning but not all the time.

  • You are welcome....
