  • Hey BMOTH,

I really enjoy the effort, you got this stuff down cold, do you have a favorite bass player, if so, why and do you ever use a pick.

I'm getting back into the bass after 40 years of abstainance...keep up the good work.

  • @delta30024fly I have a few favorite bassists I draw my inspiration from. I enjoy Rock & old R&B bassists mostly. Jones, Entwistle, Geddy, Jamerson, Butler and so on. I Iike the way these bassists can take the bass out for walks so to speak.

  • CONT...The basslilnes really have there own voices and carry much of the weight of the songs they are in. I never use a pick, (not that there is anything wrong with one). They just don't fit into my style and you can achieve the same sounds with your nails and flamenco style finger picking. I've seen great bassists use picks on occasion though. Thanks for your comment and you should not abstain from your bass (its a healthy habbit and it has feeling too you know) HAHA. Later

  • Do know what effects Entwistle used for that crunchy sound?

  • @ox092 I'm not sure what effects if any, but I know he liked fresh strings and very high treble and bass settings.

  • so great!!!!!! thunderfingers is watching this from second and loving it and being proud of u every second!!!!!!

  • Entwistle was probably my first serious influence for the bass guitar. I'm always finding something new to practice from his arsenal. He had a very strong sense for improvisation. Learning Who songs is still a great challenge and pleasure. Thanks for the comments!
