Konstantin Yegorovich Makovsky (Russian: Константин Егорович Маковский; June 20 [O.S. July 2] 1839 —September 17 [O.S. September 30] 1915) was an influential Russian painter, affiliated with the "Wanderers". Many of his historical paintings, such as The Russian Bride's Attire (1889), showed an idealized view of Russian life of prior centuries. He is often considered a representative of a Salon art.

@vereiana Thank you so much for the wonderful video of the Makovsky paintings. A Russian friend on YouTube sent it to me.I'm an art historian.The paintings showing historical Russian clothing are so very rich in detail.I could examine them for hours and never see all that is in them.I very much apperciate the art of this painter who was unknown to me until today.I want to study Russian culture and history and feel that Makovsky's paintings have given me a window into a bit of these things.
