This surgery was part of a knee arthroplasty and internal fixation skills course for junior orthopaedic surgeons in Pakistan. The course was held on 3rd and 4th March 2011 in collaboration with the orthopaedic faculty at Dow Medical College. The implants and instruments for the course were sponsored by Rehabilitation Response.

    Depends, knee replacement dislocation rates are not very high mostly

    1- Excessive use of the nibbler

    2- No use of computer aided surgical technology (which is a must in all North American countries now), the computer guides each step and monitors all stages of the operation for greater accuracy

    3- Mask is not safe anymore, full covered suites are now being used in operations so risk of infection is not minimal

    4- The doctor couldn't explain the 'effectiveness of posterior approach' and only gave the reason as 'it's in the literature' no concepts at all !

    Poor quality operation to say the least, out dated technology and safety measures. Try having a look at a similar operation at a north american hospital. At least keep the infra structure updated
