Afrika Intro

The musical project Africa by Tomas Dobrovolskis (Republic of Lithuania) with participation of Plazi Halaoui (Republic of Togo, Southwest Africa) was performed at the Lėlė theatre in Vilnius 21 March, 2009.

I have been travelling around Africa in my thoughts. I have been painting a picture of Africa in my imagination that contains sceneries of nature, rhythm, dance, rituals, and landscapes. This is my music, my illusion, and this is my Africa. My imagined Africa, says Lithuanian musician, percussionist, composer and multi-instrumentalist Tomas Dobrovolskis, introducing the concept of his project.

For me, the cooperation in this project is absolutely unexpected and very interesting, says Plazi Halauoi, who has come to Lithuania from the Republic of Togo in Southwest Africa. When playing music together, we discover new and very interesting consonances.
