A Full Hour of Coverage and Analysis on Gaza. Democracy Now 12/29/08 (5 of 5)

Amidst world-wide protests Israel is continuing its bombing campaign against Gaza for the third consecutive day and preparing to launch a possible ground invasion. Following on months of a crippling blockade this has been described as one of Israels bloodiest attacks on Palestinians since 1948. Latest reports indicate that 310 people have been killed and 1,400 injured in the aerial strikes across the Gaza Strip since Saturday morning. The latest targets of the airstrikes include the Hamas Interior Ministry building and the Islamic University. Israels Defense Minister Ehud Barak announced today that Israel is in a all-out war with Hamas and its proxies in Gaza. Fears of a ground invasion are growing after Israel declared a military buffer zone around Gaza, closing off the strip and its 1.5 million residents, to journalists and civilians.

So the palestinian people dont deserve to defend themselves? To fight off a brutal occupation? Israel denies them medical supplies, food, they bulldoze houses, they bulldoze fields of crops and orchards, they bomb indiscriminatly. They force a desperate, starving captive people to live like that and keep pushing and when they push back Israel claims they attacked first. Colonization of the land and torturing and killing the original inhabitants, ethnic cleansing is all that it is.

Uhm, No, the original owners of the land were the Canaan people who the jews wiped out and pushed out to make room for their "Promised Land" this happened as the Exodus pushed them out of Egypt. As for Hamas, they are made up of Palestinian people who are pissed off they have their houses and crops bulldozed and their families starved. What would you do? I dont condone the targeting of civilians but the military is fair game.

Than let them fight for it! Hebrews/Jews owned the land, waring kings (Assyrians, Babylonians & finally Romans) came & took them away to captivity to become slaves & they kept them from returning home by dispersing them. In time others moved in while you were gone. Does your home stop becoming home because someone else moved in while you were gone? Of course not!
