My Brother riding my 1999 Yamaha R6. It has a de-baffled Vance & Hines slip-on, and a K&N air filter, pretty much stock besides that.

  • @calcatchem The only issue i ever had was that sometimes it would be hard to shift from first to second because it would sometimes not go into second if i didnt shift hard enough. it had 25k miles on it and it ran just about perfect, i had to replace the cam chain tensioner but besides that the engine ran strong...would strongly recommend the 99 especially if its a first bike, i sold mine this april and i am regretting it big time. any other question about one let me know

  • man that is a sweet sounding R6 you got there...I'm looking at 99's and I've heard there may be a issue with second gear? Have you had any issues with second gear

  • @tobert2k7 What we did was take off the three alan screws on the tip, then pulled out the core...from there we took a dremel tool and ground down the welds on the baffle and then had to bend it a little to pull it out, then pulled it out...then put it back together...

  • I have the same slip on. Iv been wanting to remove the baffles... how did you do it???
