ALEXEI BORISOV + MATTERLINK ("Eyeing Sound" project)

found footage improvisation with Alexei Borisov at the "Monmousseau Studios" in Ivry, France, August, 2007.

Borisov is formerly of the legendary Soviet group "Notchnoi Prospect", often described as the Soviet equivalent of the Czech Republic's PLASTIC PEOPLE OF THE UNIVERSE. In addition to his solo work in electronics and many periodic collaborations,
Alexei also is a member of VOLGA, Russian electro-folk, inspired by and using Russian folk music.

In this set, Alexei uses preprepared samples, his voice and other altered electronic devices as well as a microphone placed outside where construction was underway- which he periodically mixes in, punctuated by a certain kind of "crackle and pop-culture". MATTERLINK is riffing off of his "EYING SOUND IN SPACE" video material (sound and image together...)
