@Lovemybabies03 Hi, Just found something I never saw before, maybe you haven't either...The "Slice" tag maker is only about $16 crimps the metal rings to put around your dog tags. You could still use the shrinky dinks for the main tag. Best wishes!

@Lovemybabies03 - You might try to cut your plastic to shrink to a specific size to fit one of the metal rings they make for tags for various uses. You could then double them up in the ring. You might also figure out if you could adhere it to some type of simple metal (non-rust-able of course) circular tag with superglue. Maybe too much work.

@Lovemybabies03 - thank you and can't wait to see what you come up with. Don't have a pooch but thanks anyways. :)

@Lovemybabies03 - you might also experiment with making the front and back and then glue them together - it will make it thicker and possibly more durable. You can maybe use a soft metal (a copper foil used in stain glass or anything that will hold up) to edge around both pieces to give it a finished look. :)

@Lovemybabies03 - you won't be able to use your ink jet to print on the other side - the only other thing you can do is use permanant ink and write it on there and let it dry and use a spray sealer. I would experiment with differnet mediums before doing the real test - to see which works best. I have also use a glaze that is triple thick but with an animal you want to get it as waterproof as possible.
Just wanted to let the others know, I have seen the Shrinky Dinks plastic on ebay as well. I think you can get it @ Joann's as well as Michaels (they always have a 40% to 50% coupon every week). Thanks so much for the post. Your video has had the clearest instructions I have seen, and I have looked at the top 50 by on YouTube by view count.

@2mima2 The bath powder you referred to...do you mean talcum powder/baby powder? If so, the contents of baby powder is mainly cornstarch, for those who don't have any babies at home. You are also one of the few who mention that your image needs to be lightened because of the darkening during shrinking. I appreciate your sharing this & saving us all a lot of wasted material.

@cbnfvr1 - yes, you can use anything that won't create any issues with the image by melting into it. The purpose is to help keep it from sticking to itself when/if it starts to curl. If it does stick to itself you can pry it apart - sometimes. Sometimes it could ruin the image when it sticks. Learned this the hard way. I believe lightening it is on the package directions too but it doesn't hurt to repeat it for an added reminder. Thanks. ;)
