WOW, CNN is damn near as stupid as Fox News. Biden talked about what Roosevelt did when the stock market crashed. NOT THE GREAT DEPRESSION, it was the RECESSION of 1937 and Rooselvets recovery plan worked to a degree (HOOVER LOST to Roosevelt in the 1932 election.)
It took me 3 min with the internet to research this and find this info. CNN, YOUR PATHETIC
Now, in 1939 Roosevelt was the first president to go on TV, which is why Biden remebers it like that, because that is what happened.

The problem for Palin and McCain is that people knew what they were looking for. They couldn't get a straight answer out of Bush about the economy and the wars, so they naturally turned to a saviour. They, as so many people across the globe have done, voted for a saviour. Human nature is such that if we don't have to take responsibility for our actions, like voting for Bush in the first place, we'll go with that. Palin was the 2008 scapegoat. Despots have come to power through such means.

why was it that people say that people liked her so much because she"captured the imaginations of the people" nothing about her qualifications or knowledge of the world/office position/policies?
