i have the droid and its not an iphone killer but the droid does have allot going for it

actually it's coming sometime summer-ish of '10... when the Apple/ATT contract ends... and unless Apple has something hidden up their sleeve it sounds like the "official" Google-branded phone the Nexus One is going to blow it out of the water... plus be an unlocked phone so you can put it on any GSM network... and I'm sure some unlocked for CDMA and whatever the other type of network is...

I've not heard a single carrier say "iphone killer". Thats an internet or media term. However, this is the first phone that clearly challenges Apple. The publicity you mention, is already there for Apple. But things change.... and it Does do thing the iphone Doesn't. I'm gonna get this Vphone for those reasons and the network it runs on. : )

the droid will be no iphone killer i dont think anything is going to do that but the droid phone does more then what an iphone will do out of the box if i wasnt on verizon i would have the iphone but till the day comes that iphone goes to verizon which wont happen ill be getting the droid

The iPhone is great, if that's all you want. Windows Mobile & Android provide a platform for devices with much greater capability. If you want a mp3 player, web browser and phone converged into one device, the iPhone is a terrific choice. If you want what is essentially a tiny personal computer in your pocket, you have to step outside the Apple-universe. This marketing is brilliant, imo. Similar to the "I'm a Mac" ads Apple runs... Highlight the others' weaknesses....
