Amen to that. The country today is like just pop and rock with fiddles, steel guitars and cowboy hats. The real true pure country that did not take from any other genres was the Classics from like late 1920s to 70s. The stuff today is just a bunch of crap to me. The only new stars basically that I like are the traditionalists like Dwight Yoakam, Alan Jackson and Randy Travis, but still nothing beats old Hank, Johnny, Willie, Waylon, Marty or George Jones. It's sad.
