GUARANTEED Iphone 4 Proximity Sensor issue fixed after screen replacement

Many have issues with their iphone 4 proximity sensor not working after having their screens replaced. This is a tutorial which will walk you through how to solve that issue once and for all. I am not selling anything here, neither do you have to buy anything to fix this, except electrical tape. Leave comments and contact me if you need any help with any iphone hardware issues!

You probably have a defective proximity sensor. Bring it back to Apple if its still under warranty, otherwise buy one for a few dollars on ebay and repair it.

I have this same issue. I replaced the screen on my iPhone 4 with another black screen.. And now the proximity sensor does not work. The phone never blacks out when I'm on a call and the phone is agains my cheek.

So this mod will work you say?

You must use two layers of black tape one on top of each other, i also inked the digitiser with a black permanent marker pen, also good for concealing scratches you may have made while changing screens. persevere took me several hours and several attempts to get it to work. Hang in there.

Better, but still doesn't work right. Does the tape span the light sensor AND the proximity sensor with the 2 little holes? What did you use to make the holes? I used a paper clip to stab through, but not sure if that was working correctly. Maybe I need an exacto knife? Please explain the positioning of the tape onto the mid frame. Thanks for the vid.

What about if you have that issue after replacing the Power Button / Proximity Sensor?

I had to replace it to fix my power button and now the proximity sensor won't work with the OEM screen on it. If the proximity sensor is not behind the screen it works!!! I tried 3 different ribbons... still not working :(
