Biloxi, Mississippi- May 13 5 Finalists: Elizabeth LuAnn Caughey- Texas Susan Lorraine Gasser- Utah Kim Ann Weeda- Ohio Terri Utley- Arkansas Kristina Leah Chapman- Kentucky
Even though I'm a proud native Texan, LuAnn Caughey was as dumb as a box of rocks. When you watch the crowning moment, she thinks she has it in the bag and then Terri Utley lets out that primal scream.
Utah - Ugly girl but good answer; Arkansas - Sincere and simple; Texas - No....no....no elaboration....nothing; Kentucky - Very nervous, poor girl but simple answer when she finally got it out; Ohio - Bad teeth....no elaboration on her answers. In all....Utah had the best answer but I would still give the crown to Miss Arkansas if I were to base it on intelligence and beauty;
there was a big deal about the scores in 1982. the tv showed the wrong scores on screen for kentucky in the evening gown segment. the accounting firm in charge of tabulating the top five confirmed the discrepancy, so kentucky did make the top five.
It is not fake, because she is not fake in her semi-final interview. You watch that part, and then her final answer will really resonate. And I do not understand how any more fake Arkansas's answer is compare to others. Plaeseeeeeeeee!!
Miss Arkansas's answer is most concise out of the top 5. It feels genuine. I have no idea why you said she did not answer it well. Miss Ohio named too many shallow subjects without elaborating any of them. Do we need our winner to 'preach' about being happy and considerate? Miss Texas also did not answer very well. Miss Kentucky was very nervous. Miss Utah had a nice answer which helped her get to 2nd runner up.
I actually noticed that before because I always keep score of the pageants. And I saw this one for the first time last year and I noticed that about the scores of Virginia and Kentucky and I just figured I must have done something wrong, but now I really wish I knew what happened. Poor Sandra Dee Jones, Kentucky didn't even answer that question very well, and neither did Arkansas! I think Utah and Ohio had the best answers.
what happened to miss ohio with the highest score? she should have swept the title and maybe even miss universe that year, too?

Arkansas' answer was empty and bland. That's it. I found it fake. To each his own.
