  • It puzzles me how a tv host cannot speak enough English to have a conversation with his guests. Aren't those jobs generally reserved for college educated people?

  • @RottenRroses Man he speaks english, but the auditory is the Bulgarian people ...

  • @Danmara I see. We never have translators here. The hosts always speak English with foreign guests. If it is not a live show, subtitles are occasionally added. If it is a live show, the interview is usually done without translation or with a condensed translation by the host, but never with a third party translator. Maybe except it is a show aimed at an audience mainly consisting of children or elderly people, who usually don't understand English as good.

  • @RottenRroses Man here in Bulgaria the oficial language is Bulgarian, maybe 10% of the population is speaking English, so if you understand me it has to be on Bulgarian, about who is watching this show, maybe around 50-60% of the people, bec this is the most watched show in Bulgaria...

  • would be much better if the host can speak english. lack of that really kills the feeling of conversation. : /

  • He speaks English, but don`t forget that this is Bulgarian show :)

  • I think he speaks Bulgarian by this day:D

  • @Necrodamus1 She is translating, you twat.

  • "Speak english". You know, people this is a BULGARIAN TV show.

  • @RottenRroses Are you from Scandinavia?

  • @RottenRroses Have I missed when English has become the official language of the world? Everybody I know speaks English (I'm Bulgarian). Nevertheless, I don't see why a Bulgarian show on Bulgarian TV should not be translated for its viewers, who are not obliged to know English. And what happens when the guests are Chinese, Indian or French according to you. Should the host know every single language in the world? Should Bulgarians know every single language and will you blame the school system?

  • @Danmara We also don't have English as our first language. Nonetheless most people here understand it fairly well. You know why? Of course you do, it is taught in school. Except for maybe the elderly or young children most people here understand it well enough so that interviews can be done in English. As I said, that show is the first I've seen that uses a third party translator. It's not as common as you claim. If only 10% speak English in Bulgaria, I suppose the education system is to blame.
