Lovely Zizek!

Hegelian Philosopher Slavoj Žižek and his opinion on Existence, Love and the World. An emphasis on Zizek's ideas is envisioned through Sean Thornton's Love life as a Retired Boxer that moved to his homeland Ireland.Thornton "falls" in Love , and soon enough realizes Zizek's view yet Thornton still follows through into Marriage!!!

I think Zizek is being humorous when he says here that love is evil. He's aware of our Judeo-Christian understanding of the word "evil". His statement of "love is evil" is perhaps intentionally provocative. But I think there is another layer to this statement. It's important to note that Zizek is an atheist.. Evil here could better be said to be the opposite of "order", or "chaos". Love is chaos. And everyone knows that this is a fundamental truth. Love is not a void, but rather the opposite.

Love is what keeps creatures reproducing and conforming to needs. Frankly, physics explains it all to me! But, Zizek's physics are quite different from my comprehension of how stuff came out of the void. Which is all OK by me, I adore Zizek, he's full of life and defends his boundaries with zest!

The beauty of Science (biology, physics, psychology) is in its Contingency Status towards Knowledge and Truth ... we usually only have they most accurate theory about the Reality we exist in until a more Understanding Theory of Reality comes by . . .. if only Aristotle were back for a Day - What would he pontificate upon Dogs ???? the same .... something different? who knows !!! : )

I think Zizek here is examining how love is necessarily hierarchical, in the sense that you pick out certain things and elevate them to the status of the sublime. You disturb the stable void, the status quo, when you find a particular to represent the universal.

@metaman1 its more that love is evil in the sense that violence is. love is a violent act. in the picking out of something arbitrarily you nescessarily disregard the rest. this "less-caringness" is violent at its core. This is nothing new. it pops up over and over in his books. p.s. fuck the beatles.
